. . . The original idea behind this sculpture is the following: This Award was born as an independent sculpture with the title 'See intent upon' and is a bronze mirror in the shape of a tree; clear enough.
I once read that those who planting a tree has confidence in the future. As well that trees reflects your soul. However the bronze mirror was long ago the beginning of our vanity; one could admire now everywhere and when his own mirror image.Wearing that opulence is true; the mirror is pretty heavy.
Wonderful how vanity changed into selflessness. I'm proud that precisely this statue has found this destination. Since for me Oxfam Novib stand most of all for: Changing the world into a better place starts with looking at yourselve . . .

"Your magnificent Artwork beautifully interprets and represents the main idea "Dream about a tree and start with a seed". That's the mission of Art: to make the soul perceptible. Something timeless, universal and spiritual".
Speedboat Z414
Granito on concrete

Commissioned Art work | Context Related Art
. . . The municipality of Zoetermeer [the Netherlands] Commissioned me for creating a work of Art in the Public Space of shopping center Vijverhoek district Driemanspolder. Characteristic to the shopping center is the cozy, open and green impression it make on you. That's because the pond and the park behind it are very well integrated: the square turns into stairs that runs into the friendly pond.
For this commission I had to use the leftover granite blocks from the shopping area for the renovation in 2013.
WHAT if something had happened which no one knows exactly HOW or WHEN? That's where Speedboat Z414 turns in.
The official unveiling of Speedboat Z414 was done by Hans Haring, alderman for Culture of the city Zoetermeer . . .

"The municipality of Zoetermeer was looking for an Art commission in shoppingmall Vijverhoek an artist who has an affinity with stony materials. The choice fell on Zagara, because of his earlier work showed that he is able to edit brick so that the material gets a certain softness.
Zagara has artistically incorporated the old Maas cobblestones of the former retaining wall into a work of Art. The top layer is made of granite: pulverized granite mixed with cement. Speedboat Z414 become for the Vijverhoek a recognizable meeting place.
Zagara's enthusiasm, creativity and inventiveness have created a good partnership and a special work of Art".
La double Vita | High
Paper fibrers, Epoxi resin, Wood
127 x 249 x 5 cm
November 2013
Free Art work | Evolved Art
. . . With La double Vita | High as with the associate Artwork La double Vita | Far I wanted to start enlarging the scale used before in the previous generations Soil of Ardour's to see if and how that would be possible. Larger work demands quickly to other solutions in the making.
Although the work got a different title, I still consider these works as Evolved from the sequence Soil of Ardour works.
Despite it is pretty flat work, I define them made in the tradition of sculpture rather than painting. The figures are namely sculpt by hand out of paper pulp, which were then were treated with epoxy.
La double Vita | High was sold before ever exhibit . . .

"I am so mesmerized by the details and pattern that I didn’t really recognize the human shapes at first. I enjoy how the patterns vary and change to hint at a more concrete form. Great work."
Soil of Ardour | Bright Dusk
Gold - M1
Paper fibrers, Epoxi resin, Gold leaf 24k
june 2013
Free Art work | Evolved Art
. . . Bright Dusk is about beauty. People form a prima facie opinion of the first impression. So then we talk about the outher beauty. But as we all know the true beauty resides in the inside. The inside of the Bright Dusk sculptures are gold plated [or Silver collored]. That seems to be right since that's the inside. But for those who look closer they will see that the inside is the outside of the first generation Soil of Ardour | Basis M1, M2 and M3.
To be honest Bright Dusk is mainly about the beauty twistability.
Soil of Ardour is a family of sculptures in which the following directly descended from the previous one. An Evolution where as with ourselves, everything you do comes from what the previous [generations] have built up and done. So:
Soil of Ardour | Basis, M1,M2 & M3 is the Evolution of
Soil of Ardour | Concept Girls I, M1,M2 & M3 is the Evolution of
Soil of Ardour | Concept Girls II, M1,M2 & M3 is the Evolution of

"Exquisite. Love how this sculptural series keeps evolving, can't say I was expecting this latest lot to turn out like this, but I'm glad it did! They seem more animated/ in a state of metamorphosis and I'm half expecting them to start changing on their own accord.
Great work :)".
Royal Plaquette King Willem Alexander

48 x 30 cm
Commissioned Design work.
. . . Its my honor I was asked to create two Plaquettes for two Royal moments . . .
- The first Royal Plaquette was a present together with a tree by the municipality of The Hague for the seventieth birthday of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix on Januari 2008. The Plaquette and the tree are placed in the public park behind the Royal working palace in the Haghe.
- The second Royal Plaquette was placed on to the tradition to plant a Kings lime tree[Koningslinde] as a result of the inauguration. Prins Willem-Alexander planted the tree himselve six days before he became the King of the Netherlands on the 30th of April 2013 in Wijkpark Transvaal, the Haghe.
The picture shown here is from this memorial moment.

Harvest Tree | Type I & II

. . . Harvest Tree is a sculpture in the spirit of moneymaking.
You can harvest each chair and sell it seperatly in the hope you earn more money then selling the total sculpture at one's. But if you do so, you forgot that with harvesting a chair you demollish the beginning of the concept and therefor ruin a piece of Art.. . .
